A first of its kind graduate-entry collaboration between the University of Cumbria and Imperial College London will see the launch of the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM) this week.  Located at the University of Cumbria Fusehill Street campus in Carlisle, the School will welcome its inaugural cohort of 58 students on 26 August.

A brand-new webinar series is launching this month bringing leading medical research directly to the people of Cumbria, with a strong focus on health innovation and community impact.

The PCSM Research Hub is proud to present the first session of the CumbriaMed Research Webinar Series on Thursday 26 June 2025, from 12:30 to 13:30, hosted live on Zoom.

The Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM) is delighted to announce a generous gift worth £40,000 from the Angela Pattman Scholarship Trust, administered by the Genesis Research Trust, founded by Lord Winston. This invaluable support will help overcome financial barriers, ensuring that aspiring and talented individuals have the opportunity to pursue a career in medicine.

The PCSM Research Hub promotes, supports and funds health research at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM) and University of Cumbria, in partnership with Imperial College London and the North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust (NCIC). 

The Pears Cumbria School of Medicine team welcomed Dr Claire Fuller, GP and Primary Care Medical Director for NHS England. Dr Fuller, renowned for her work in primary care integration discussed with local primary care providers. Taking a major step forward in understanding the need for community-based education and healthcare provision in Cumbria.
